Job summary

Invictus Group is seeking a Distribution Site Technician for a busy distribution site in Cumbernauld, Scotland. You will perform hands-on electrical maintenance, handling planned and reactive tasks, fault diagnosis, and safety compliance.

The role involves supporting site operations and liaising with management. The successful candidate will have NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2, City & Guilds 18th Edition, AM2/2391, and experience in commercial or industrial maintenance, including

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in Electrical Maintenance.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition.
• AM2 and/or 2391 qualification.
• Experience in electrical maintenance on commercial/industrial or distribution sites.
• Experience with fire alarm systems and emergency lighting is advantageous.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Able to work independently and prioritise workloads.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable with on-call rota.
• Health & safety conscious and professional.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within agreed timescales.
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests from the helpdesk.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out repairs.
• Maintain fire alarm system and emergency lighting.
• Complete surveys and technical reports when required.
• Log materials, expenditure and purchasing per procedures.
• Supervise and support other technicians on site tasks.
• Attend training to maintain technical skills.
• Develop relationships with customers and colleagues.
• Prioritise reactive works to meet response times.

Distribution Site Technician

Location: Cumbernauld, Scotland

Salary: £39,111.36 per annum + 5% SLA

Contract: Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 10:00am - 6:00pm

We are currently recruiting for a Distribution Site Technician to join a leading Facilities Management provider, working on a large, busy distribution site in Cumbernauld.

This is a hands-on electrical maintenance role, responsible for delivering planned and reactive maintenance across the site. You will act as the first point of contact for maintenance issues, ensuring faults are diagnosed and resolved efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and customer service.

The role would suit a qualified electrical engineer with strong maintenance experience who enjoys working in a busy operational environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) within agreed timescales.
• Respond to reactive maintenance and service requests from the helpdesk.
• Diagnose electrical faults and carry out effective repairs.
• Carry out planned and reactive fire alarm system maintenance.
• Complete emergency lighting testing, maintenance and repairs.
• Carry out minor electrical installations and alterations within your competency.
• Complete general building and maintenance tasks as required.
• Prioritise reactive works in line with agreed response times.
• Identify faults that cannot be economically repaired and recommend appropriate remedial action.
• Maintain accurate maintenance and compliance records.
• Complete surveys and technical reports when required.
• Liaise with the site management team regarding maintenance issues that may impact operations.
• Ensure all works are completed in accordance with current Health & Safety requirements.
• Log materials, expenditure and purchasing in line with company procedures.
• Support and supervise other technicians on technical works and PPM activities.
• Develop strong working relationships with both customers and colleagues.
• Attend training as required to maintain and develop technical skills.
• Participate in a 24/7 on-call rota, currently 1 week in 2.

About You

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds 236 Parts 1 & 2 or equivalent in Electrical Installation/Maintenance.
• City & Guilds 18th Edition.
• AM2 and/or 2391 qualification.
• Previous experience in electrical maintenance, ideally within a commercial, industrial or distribution environment.
• Experience with fire alarm systems and emergency lighting would be advantageous.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Good understanding of PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Able to work independently and prioritise workloads effectively.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Comfortable working as part of an on-call rota.
