Job summary

Calibre Search is seeking a Maintenance Electrician / Site Technician for a permanent, full-time position at a busy distribution site in Stoke-on-Trent. The role covers planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting and building services across the site.

You will diagnose faults, carry out repairs within your competence and arrange specialist support where required, with a 24/7 call-out rota and ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds in Electrical Installation or Maintenance
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations; AM2 and/or 2391
• Experience with three-phase electrical systems
• Experience in facilities, commercial, industrial or distribution environments
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills

Responsibilities

• Complete planned preventative maintenance within agreed timescales
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and diagnose faults
• Carry out electrical repairs and fault finding
• Deliver planned and reactive fire alarm system maintenance
• Complete emergency lighting testing and repairs
• Carry out minor electrical installations and alterations
• Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical equipment
• Work on equipment including ovens, dishwashers and microwaves
• Identify faults requiring specialist attendance and escalate
• Complete maintenance, compliance and technical documentation
• Carry out site surveys and produce reports
• Advise management of maintenance issues affecting site operations
• Order and log materials in line with procedures
• Support supervision of other technicians during technical and PPM works
• Ensure health and safety compliance in all tasks
• Maintain relationships with customers and colleagues
• Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota

Are you an experienced Maintenance Electrician looking for a permanent role within a busy distribution environment?

A permanent opportunity is available for an experienced Maintenance Electrician / Site Technician to carry out planned preventative maintenance, reactive repairs and general electrical maintenance across a busy distribution site in Stoke-on-Trent.

This is a varied role covering electrical maintenance, fire alarm systems, emergency lighting, general building services and a range of electrical and mechanical equipment.

THE ROLE

As a Maintenance Electrician / Distribution Site Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the site remains safe, compliant and operational through a combination of planned and reactive maintenance.

You will act as a first point of contact for maintenance issues, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs within your technical competence and arranging specialist support where required.

Key responsibilities include:

• Complete planned preventative maintenance within agreed timescales
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests and diagnose faults
• Carry out electrical repairs and fault finding
• Deliver planned and reactive fire alarm system maintenance
• Complete emergency lighting testing and repairs
• Carry out minor electrical installations and alterations
• Maintain and repair a range of electrical and mechanical equipment
• Work on equipment including commercial ovens, dishwashers and microwaves
• Identify faults requiring specialist attendance and escalat
• Complete maintenance, compliance and technical documentation
• Carry out site surveys and produce reports where required
• Advise site management of maintenance issues that could affect site operations
• Order and log materials in line with purchasing procedures
• Support the supervision of other technicians during technical and PPM works
• Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Health and Safety requirements
• Maintain strong working relationships with customers and colleagues
• Participate in a 24/7 call-out rota

ABOUT YOU

We are looking for an experienced Maintenance Electrician or Electrical Technician with a background in commercial, industrial, facilities management or distribution environments.

You should be confident fault finding across electrical systems and comfortable working independently within a busy operational site.

The successful Maintenance Electrician will ideally have:

• NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds qualification in Electrical Installation or Maintenance, or equivalent
• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations
• AM2 and/or 2391
• Experience working with three-phase electrical systems
• Previous experience within facilities, commercial, industrial or distribution environments
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience carrying out both planned and reactive maintenance
• Ability to work safely and efficiently with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills and a professional approach when dealing with customers and colleagues

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a varied Maintenance Electrician position offering the opportunity to work across electrical maintenance, fire alarms, emergency lighting, PPM and general building services within an operational distribution environment.

The role would suit an experienced Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Technician or Facilities Maintenance Engineer based in Stoke-on-Trent or the surrounding areas.
