Job summary

Hafren Dyfrdwy, part of Severn Trent Plc, invites applications for a Leakage Distribution Service Technician in the reactive Customer Network Operations. You will operate and maintain the Underground Network Infrastructure and support inspection, improvement and repair tasks.

This is a secondment opportunity with a focus on safety and efficiency. You will work independently and in teams, communicating with customers, other departments and contract partners, while embracing continuous improvement

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence and willingness to work outdoors in all weather.

Working within our reactive Customer Network Operations Department you get the chance to join as a Leakage Distribution Service Technician, where you will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of Hafren Dyfrdwy's Underground Network Infrastructure. Please note this is a secondment opportunity.

You will be involved in a number of daily tasks set to aid the inspection, improvement and repair of our assets, such as routine maintenance on key equipment, mains cleansing & flushing, disinfection of mains, tracing mains & apparatus and identifying contamination risks.

Possessing great communication skills is essential as you'll be responding to and resolving any issues raised by a customer or member of the public and first point of contact, furthermore, you'll also be communicating with different departments within the business and working with our contract partners.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO THE ROLE

We're looking for a proactive and safety-focused individual with a strong understanding of water network operations and leakage detection activities. You'll be confident working independently and as part of a team, with the ability to investigate issues, identify solutions, and adapt to changing operational priorities. Experience of network maintenance, DMA management, leakage investigations, and the use of technologies such as data loggers, flow monitoring, and pressure management equipment would be advantageous.

You'll be committed to continuous improvement, keen to embrace new ways of working, and able to maintain high standards of compliance with health and safety, environmental, hygiene, and NRSWA requirements. A full UK driving licence is essential, along with a willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and participate in a rolling 24/7 seven-week shift pattern.
