Job summary - What to expect:

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join a dynamic team as a Distribution Operator. Your role will be to carry out a range of tasks, as directed by your Team Leader, including picking, sorting, scanning, packaging, and dispatching contact lenses to meet customer requirements, production targets, and quality standards.

What will you be doing:

  • Picking materials & lenses for customer orders following company procedures & work instructions.
  • Picking lenses from OSR and Pick to light machinery.
  • Picking lenses from standard locations (WQ and RFX).
  • Using Wav Machines at height to pick lenses from racking locations.
  • Collating picked orders and moving to multi-tote sorting area.
  • Pre-sorting lenses for customer orders manually according to requirements.
  • Scanning orders in line with procedures & work instructions.
  • Following customer-specific scanning requirements using computerized systems.
  • Packing orders into cartons and onto pallets.
  • Using pallet trucks to move loads.
  • Dispatching orders, including loading trucks and completing paperwork.
  • Communicating with the shipping office and recording data as per procedures.
  • Ensuring adherence to SOPs, GMP/5s, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintaining housekeeping and cleaning at the end of each shift.
  • Complying with health and safety regulations and safe equipment use.

What are we looking for?

We seek enthusiastic, flexible team players with good interpersonal skills, a working knowledge of warehouse procedures, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Understanding of Lean, continuous improvements, and Health and Safety is preferred.
  • PC literate, with basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • Experience with manual handling equipment (Wav Machine, Pump Trucks, Trollies).
  • Ability to read and follow SOPs/Work Instructions.
  • Ability to provide feedback to supervisors and contribute to continuous improvement projects.
  • Multi-skilled in pick, scan, pack, and dispatch operations; willing to train and assist others.
  • Participation in audits to ensure compliance with ISO/FDA & customer standards.
  • Use of systems like Oracle and JDA.
  • Good communication skills in English, positive attitude, and self-motivation.
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks and maintain work standards.
  • Willingness to participate in CI activities and Kaizen events.
