Distribution Manager - UAB Hospital

Core Linen Services is a leader in hospital and hospitality laundry processing services across the country. We focus on service, quality, and safety, enabling our clients to provide essential services to their patients and guests. The company operates in over 20 states and is a portfolio company of H.I.G. Capital, based in Miami, FL.

Location: Onsite at UAB Hospital

Summary: The On-Site Linen Manager is responsible for overseeing the hospital's laundry and linen program, including ancillary areas, ensuring an adequate supply of clean linen for all departments. The role involves collaboration and communication with both the laundry processing plant and hospital staff.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assigning and scheduling duties, including directing distribution staff and soil collection associates.
  • Managing the receipt, recording, distribution, and collection of linens to ensure uninterrupted service.
  • Maintaining cleanliness of work areas and linen storage.
  • Inspecting laundered articles to ensure compliance with HLAC, OSHA, and JCAHO standards.
  • Keeping records of attendance, production, and linen tracking.
  • Communicating with end-user departments for feedback and program improvements.
  • Participating in linen program meetings and committees.
  • Interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees.
  • Providing tailored services to departments with special requirements, with necessary approvals.
  • Educating staff on proper linen utilization and reporting overuse or misuse.
  • Filling in for distribution or soil collection staff as needed to meet facility requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Effective communication skills in writing and speaking.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and stay organized.
  • Demonstrate initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership.
  • Knowledge of contract administration and office procedures.
  • Experience in a working environment to meet goals and objectives.

Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Completion of department orientation and testing as per company policies.
