Role profile:

The role requires working independently, understanding complex issues, and communicating clearly to inform decisions. Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing accurate and timely financial information, including reporting and analysis for key performance and management reporting at regional and directorate levels.
  • Supporting and challenging the business alongside the Business Partnering team by understanding financial drivers, providing insight, and fostering effective financial management. Acting as an independent critical friend to support good management decisions.
  • Participating in monthly/forecast/budget review meetings, site visits, and internal stakeholder engagements to support revenue, capital projects, and cost management within budget and on time.
  • Maintaining effective financial controls, including control account reconciliations, balance sheet analysis, journal backup, and purchase ledger management.
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting, identifying opportunities for process improvements.
What do I need?

Experience in a finance role within a large organization, with skills in financial operations, reporting, and presenting financial information to operational leaders. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, and strong analytical skills are essential.

Qualifications in accounting (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW, CIPFA) or equivalent are required.

Additional qualities include decision-making ability, adaptability, proactivity, confidence, and the willingness to visit sites across the business.
