Compensation: $242,000-$302,000 (Range applies to US candidates only) + Benefits/Variable Comp/Equity - Range may vary based on experience.

Summary

The Distinguished Engineer on the Platform Development Team is a big picture thinker who always keeps in mind why they are building something and for whom — our customers. This role requires innovative thinking and developing creative solutions in the design, development, and maintenance of the OneStream Platform and ecosystem.

This position demands strong knowledge of modern software design principles, concepts, and best practices. The Distinguished Engineer is expected to collaborate effectively within a team of engineers, report to the Vice President of Platform Engineering, and work with cross-functional teams to address complex challenges, shaping the product architecture, performance, and scalability. Mentoring other engineers, influencing key business decisions, and evaluating the company's technology stack are also key responsibilities. This role offers opportunities to innovate and significantly impact our engineering organization and beyond.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and deliver large-scale, reliable, maintainable, and high-quality software products and systems, ensuring compliance with company guidelines and standards, and maintaining thorough documentation.
• Champion the technical vision aligned with strategic goals and industry trends, delivering innovative solutions that provide user value.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to staff and senior engineers, lead technical discussions, and make impactful architectural decisions.
• Collaborate with peers and cross-functional teams to define requirements, align goals, manage dependencies, resolve technical issues, and steer product direction.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to security and compliance standards, including SOC, FedRamp, OWASP, etc.
• Continuously analyze and optimize system performance for seamless data processing and retrieval.
• Evaluate and prototype new technologies for potential adoption and inform the company's technical roadmap.
• Engage in client escalations, providing technical guidance, root cause analysis, and resolution.
• Lead efforts to plan, prioritize, and execute projects to meet deadlines.
• Recommend new technologies to improve quality and productivity.
• Present to leadership and at conferences to share expertise and insights.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 20+ years of experience in scalable distributed systems and real-time data streaming technologies.
• Expertise in C#, Visual Basic, SQL Server, Web Services, WCF, WPF, XAML, XML, ASP.NET, MVC, HTML5, JavaScript, Visual Studio, Azure, .NET Core.
• Knowledge of EPM/CPM or financial domains.
• Experience with OLAP and multidimensional data.
• Experience in ETL pipelines, data integration, and big data frameworks.
• Strong understanding of DevOps practices, including CI/CD, containerization, and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Master's degree in engineering or a technology-related field.
