Online Distance Learning Tutor

The Heart of Yorkshire Education Group provides accessible and high-quality training to learners nationwide. We are looking for competent, flexible, and experienced distance learning tutors in Childcare, Counselling and Health & Social Care, Engineering, Computer Science, and Business.

NB: This role is classed as self-employed. Pay will be dependent on the course level and content.

This is a remote position.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Support and provide feedback to learners using an online system and through regular 1:1 support tutorials.
  • Create individual learning plans and liaise with office teams on a monthly basis regarding learner progress.
  • A sample of work will be assessed by internal moderators as part of awarding body and audit requirements.
  • Address and resolve any actions identified by internal moderators within 10 days.
  • Undertake training for efficient duty execution and take responsibility for professional development.
  • Undertake necessary Health & Safety/Safeguarding/PREVENT and British Values responsibilities and duties.
  • Attend standardisation meetings, including a full team annual meeting.

Qualifications Required:

In line with Awarding Body Guidelines, applicants should hold:

  • A sector qualification at least one level higher than the course level.
  • Recent sector experience and CPD.
  • Assessing Award (A1/A2/D32/D33/TAQA or equivalent qualification).

Evidence of up-to-date occupational competency and an enhanced DBS certificate issued within the last 12 months or registered on the update service are required.

A completed IR35 checklist from the Government website is also required to establish status.
