Job summary

Daniel Owen Ltd is seeking an experienced Disrepair Operative to join our team delivering high-quality repairs for housing associations across Reading, Slough, Oxford, High Wycombe, Luton and Bedfordshire.

You will perform legal disrepair works and general maintenance within occupied homes, handling plumbing, carpentry, decorating, tiling and related trades to restore properties to full functionality. A professional, customer-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Full UK Driving Licence (manual) required.
• NVQ Level 2 in Carpentry is required.
• Basic DBS Check.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out disrepair inspections and remedial works within occupied properties.
• Carrying out multi-trade repair works including plumbing, carpentry, decorating, plaster patching, tiling and general maintenance.
• Investigating property defects and rectifying issues identified through disrepair claims.
• Undertaking small repair projects from start to completion to restore properties to safe, habitable condition.
• Liaising professionally with tenants, residents and housing association representatives to minimise disruption.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works and materials used using a PDA or handheld device.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 am - 5:00 pm

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Disrepair Operative to join a reputable contractor delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services for housing associations throughout Reading, Slough, Oxford, High Wycombe, Luton, and Bedfordshire.

The role will focus on completing legal disrepair works and general maintenance repairs within occupied residential properties. You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of multi-skilled tasks, including plumbing, carpentry, decorating, patch repairs, and other associated building works.

Responsibilities:

• Carrying out legal disrepair inspections, remedial works, and maintenance repairs within occupied residential properties, ensuring issues are resolved to the required standards.
• Completing a range of multi-trade repair works associated with disrepair cases, including plumbing repairs, carpentry, plaster patching, decorating, tiling, and general building maintenance.
• Investigating and rectifying property defects, including leaks, water damage, damaged fixtures, defective finishes, and other repairs identified through disrepair claims.
• Undertaking small repair projects and remedial works from start to completion, ensuring properties are returned to a safe, functional, and habitable condition.
• Liaising professionally and courteously with tenants, residents, and housing association representatives, providing excellent customer service while minimising disruption during works.
• Maintaining accurate records of completed works, materials used, and any additional repairs required using a PDA or handheld device.
