Salary: £239.35 per day

Purpose of the Job Role

Carry out building surveying functions to manage repair and maintenance of approximately 20,000 homes, including building structure, fabric, internal and communal areas, and estate grounds. Manage local repair delivery and contractors to ensure compliance. Collaborate with other teams for seamless service delivery to customers.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide maintenance surveying services for all properties, assessing conditions, identifying defects, and specifying remedies.
  • Offer technical advice and support across services.
  • Implement quality, financial, and budget controls aligned with service targets.
  • Assist with insurance claims, including technical input and works specification.
  • Manage planned and cyclical maintenance programs.
  • Conduct pre- and post-inspections to ensure work standards.
  • Support HRS Trade Supervisors in service delivery.
  • Prepare repair schedules, specifications, and technical drawings; supervise works.
  • Support disrepair claims and minimize organizational loss.
  • Assist with Right to Buy processes and service charge queries.
  • Manage minor works and estate improvement projects.
  • Perform estate and block inspections with housing management, residents, and stakeholders.
  • Identify and recommend projects for capital investment and property assessments for various programs.

Qualifications

  • Part 1 RICS/CIOB or equivalent in relevant study or experience.
  • HNC/HND or equivalent in building surveying or related discipline.
  • Full UK Manual Driving License.

Experience

  • Managing residential repair and maintenance services, including work specification and defect diagnosis.
  • Making complex technical decisions, especially regarding remedial works.
  • Project management of building works.
  • Contract management for repair and maintenance.
