Job summary

Vincere in Leeds is seeking a Senior Solicitor to join the Disputed Wills, Trusts and Estates team, focusing on contentious probate and private wealth disputes, handling high-value, complex matters. Qualifications

• 5+ years' PQE (or equivalent) as a solicitor.
• Strong litigation skills and sound technical judgement.
• Interest in private client disputes and contentious trusts and probate work.
• Willingness to work towards ACTAPS accreditation (if not already achieved).
• Proactive, collaborative approach with a commercial, solution-driven mindset.

Responsibilities

• Managing your own caseload of contentious trusts and estates matters with limited supervision.
• Assisting senior lawyers with complex, high-value disputes as needed.
• Advising on will validity challenges, trust disputes and estate administration disputes.
• Handling proprietary estoppel and Inheritance Act claims.
• Advising on disputes involving trustees, executors and beneficiaries.
• Drafting, legal research and investigations.
• Attending conferences, court hearings and client meetings.
• Communicating with clients, counsel and other parties.

Disputed Wills, Trusts and Estates Senior Solicitor

Location: Leeds

Salary: £70,000 to £95,000 (depending on experience)

Experience: 5+ years' PQE (or equivalent)

Our client is looking to hire a senior contentious trusts and probate lawyer into a leading Disputed Wills, Trusts and Estates team in Leeds. This is a genuinely specialist role for someone who wants to focus exclusively on contentious probate and private wealth disputes, working on high-value, complex matters in a supportive, well-resourced team.

You will handle a varied caseload spanning will challenges and validity disputes, trust disputes, estate administration claims, proprietary estoppel, Inheritance Act claims, and related professional negligence matters. The work is often sensitive and emotionally charged, so strong client handling and judgement are essential.

This is a chance to join a growing national disputes practice with strong private client capability and a collaborative culture. You will have the platform to develop your profile in the contentious probate space, supervise junior colleagues, and contribute to business development through relevant networks and events.

What You'll Be Doing

• Managing your own caseload of contentious trusts and estates matters with limited supervision
• Assisting senior lawyers with complex, high-value disputes as needed
• Advising on will validity challenges, trust disputes and estate administration disputes
• Handling proprietary estoppel and Inheritance Act claims
• Advising on disputes involving trustees, executors and beneficiaries
• Drafting, legal research and investigations
• Attending conferences, court hearings and client meetings
• Communicating with clients, counsel and other parties
• Supervising and supporting junior members of the team
• Supporting business development and profile raising activity within the contentious probate market
• Completing client and internal MI procedures
• Working to agreed chargeable time and financial targets, and meeting deadlines and KPIs

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years' PQE (or equivalent) as a Solicitor
• Strong, demonstrable interest in private client disputes and contentious trusts and probate work
• Ideally working exclusively in contentious probate
• Strong litigation skills and sound technical judgement
• Confident handling sensitive, emotionally charged matters
• Willingness to work towards ACTAPS accreditation (if not already achieved)
• A proactive, collaborative approach and a commercial, solution-driven mindset
• Strong organisation, time management and communication skills
