Job summary

Douglas Scott Ltd in West Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Contentious Probate Solicitor to join its well-established private client team. This role offers a varied caseload and the opportunity to advise on complex probate disputes with a supportive, collaborative firm.

The successful candidate should have at least 2 years PQE in contentious probate, strong drafting and advocacy skills, and the ability to manage a caseload independently while contributing to a busy, friendly office culture

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' PQE in contentious probate or related private client work.
• Strong and demonstrable contentious probate experience.
• Experience managing a caseload of contentious estate and trust matters.
• Excellent client care and communication skills.
• Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team.
• Genuine interest in developing a career within contentious private client work.

Responsibilities

• Advise on a broad range of contentious probate and private client disputes, including probate/estate disputes, trust disputes and the administration of estates.
• Develop and implement settlement, negotiation and litigation strategy for clients.
• Manage and progress a varied caseload with attention to deadlines and client needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a solicitor with at least 2 years' PQE and solid contentious probate experienceto join a firm that is consistently recognised as one of the best firms to work for.

You will become part of a supportive, specialist team handling a varied and interesting caseload, with the opportunity to develop your expertise within a highly respected practice.

You will advise on a broad range of contentious probate and private client disputes, including:

• Contentious matters relating to probate and estates
• Probate and estate disputes
• Trust disputes and contentious trust matters
• Estate administration disputes
• Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975 claims
• Disputes concerning the validity and interpretation of wills
• Claims involving beneficiaries and executors
• Disputes arising from the administration of estates
• Advising clients on settlement, negotiation and litigation strategy

I am looking to speak to solicitors who have:

• At least 2 years' PQE
