Disposal Operations Manager
Bankhead Depot

Salary: £46,023 - £54,476

Hours: 36 per week, 52 weeks

We are seeking an Operations Manager to oversee the Waste Disposal service and depot management. The ideal candidate will be an inspiring, experienced, highly motivated, creative, and adaptable professional.

You will lead and motivate a frontline workforce delivering waste disposal services in Edinburgh. The package includes a minimum of 32 days leave per year, increasing to 40 days based on continuous service, generous employer pension contributions, and benefits such as Green Car scheme, Cycle to Work, Lifestyle Savings, and Gym Membership.

The Disposal service manages 3 Household Waste Recycling Centres and 2 Waste Transfer Stations, along with infrastructure improvements at waste depots. The role involves implementing new working methods and engaging constructively with frontline staff and Trade Union colleagues. The successful candidate will ensure priorities are met, policies followed, and standards maintained within a challenging financial environment, supporting the management team and leading frontline supervisors.
