Job summary

David Kear Opticians is seeking a GOC-registered Dispensing Optician to join our independent group across Lydney, Cinderford and Coleford. You’ll dispense with care, advise on frames and lenses, and collaborate with our optometrists to deliver excellent patient care.

The role offers flexibility (full or part-time) with no Sundays or bank holidays, autonomy in your dispensing decisions, and a supportive team culture focused on personal patient care.

Qualifications

• GOC-registered Dispensing Optician qualification required.
• Proven ability to build relationships with patients.
• Capable of providing thoughtful, personalised dispensing advice.
• Able to work independently as well as in a close-knit team.
• Demonstrates warmth, professionalism and a collaborative approach.
• Willingness to travel between two practices regularly.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert dispensing advice on frames and lenses.
• Work with Optometrists and wider practice teams to support patient care.
• Deliver a relaxed, welcoming experience for every patient.
