Rawlings Opticians & Hearing Care in Croydon is seeking a Dispensing Optician to deliver high‑quality dispensing services and maintain excellent patient relationships. You will ensure accurate records, help with lens measurements, and support the team in a busy practice.

The role requires a Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic dispensing and prior spectacle dispensing experience, with a competitive salary and benefits package. Full-time, permanent position in a patient‑facing environment.

Qualifications

• Previous spectacle dispensing experience is essential.
• Level 6 Diploma in Ophthalmic dispensing qualification.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional customer service by maintaining a positive, polite, and professional manner in all patient interactions.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and GDPR compliance.
• Handle financial transactions securely and accurately in line with company procedures.
• Support Optical Assistants and supervise Dispensing Assistants.
• Participate in the three-way handover between Optometrist and patient.
• Take precise measurements for lenses using the iPad.
• Perform focimetry of lenses and monitor spectacle orders.
• Ensure spectacles are quality checked and fitted.
• Carry out minor spectacle and hearing aid repairs.
• Address patient concerns and escalate to the manager when needed.
• Maintain professional standards and CPD up-to-date.
• Promote company values and excellent patient care.
