Job summary

Boots Opticians is seeking a qualified Dispensing Optician to provide high-level customer care and expert advice in-store, reporting to the Store Manager. You will support regulated dispensing and help customers choose eyewear that best fits their needs.

GOC registration and CPD training are required, with opportunities for clinical advancement within Boots Opticians and our Franchise Academy. A supportive, inclusive workplace with comprehensive benefits awaits.

Qualifications

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC).
• Committed to CPD and continuous learning as part of GOC requirements.
• Experience in regulated dispensing and eyewear advice is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical support in store for regulated dispensing.
• Share knowledge to inspire the Optical team and deliver excellent service.
• Listen to customer needs and offer expert advice on eyewear.
• Guide customers to select the best eyewear and ensure fit and safety.
• Support efficient daily operations and ensure legal trading standards.
• Provide specialist knowledge for customers with complex requirements.

What you’ll be doing

As a qualified Dispensing Optician, you will be providing a high level of customer care and expert advice to make a real difference to our customers and keep them coming back. You will work in one of our stores, reporting to the Store Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Providing clinical support in store for regulated dispensing
• Inspiring your Optical team by sharing your knowledge to offer the very best service.
• Listening to the needs of customers and offer expertise and advice.
• Helping our customers to choose the correct eyewear and offer guidance to ensure our customers receive the best product suited to their needs.
• Supporting the team to deliver an efficient model day and operational processes to ensure that the business trades legally.
• Providing expert knowledge for patients with more specialist requirements.

What you’ll need to have (our must-haves)

• Registered with the General Optical Council (GOC)
• Passion for your own learning and development, completing all CPD training as part of the GOC requirement.
