Job summary

Zest Optical in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, is recruiting a Dispensing Optician to lead a small team in a boutique, patient‑focused practice. You will work closely with another experienced Dispensing Optician, deliver specialist services, and manage stock and supplier relationships.

The role offers a supportive environment with opportunities for growth and professional development in a modern, paperless clinic.

Qualifications

• GOC-registered Dispensing Optician
• Leadership experience in a small team
• Proficient with modern digital workflows

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a close-knit team of 4-5 people
• Collaborate with another Dispensing Optician (4 days a week)
• Deliver an exceptional patient journey in a single testing room
• Build strong patient relationships in a warm, boutique practice
• Dispense designer frames (Chanel, Tom Ford, Lindberg, Oakley, Prada, Ray-Ban, Tiffany & Co.)
• Provide specialist dispensing including paediatric eyewear and myopia control
• Support training and development of the wider team
• Manage stock, orders and supplier relationships
• Contribute ideas to shape practice development
• Work 5 days per week with some Saturdays and hours 9:00–17:30

Zest Optical are working with a patient-focused independent Opticians in Bishop's Stortford to recruit a Dispensing Optician to join their experienced and friendly team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Dispensing Optician to step into a leadership role within a modern, community-focused practice known for its relaxed, personal service and clinical excellence.

Dispensing Optician - Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a close-knit team of 4-5 people in a supportive, forward-thinking environment
• Work alongside another experienced Dispensing Optician, who is in practice 4 days a week
• Deliver an exceptional patient journey in a single testing room practice with genuine growth potential
• Build strong patient relationships in a practice with a warm, homely feel
• Dispense a wide selection of designer and luxury frames, including Chanel, Tom Ford, Lindberg, Oakley, Prada, Ray-Ban, and Tiffany & Co.
• Provide specialist dispensing services including paediatric eyewear and myopia control
• Support training and development of the wider team
• Manage stock, orders, and supplier relationships
• Contribute ideas to shape how the practice is run and developed
• 5 days per week, including some Saturdays (Not all required)
• Working hours: 9am-5.30pm
