To be considered for this role, you must have an NVQ2 in Pharmacy Services or an accredited equivalent course, as well as a Medicine Counter Assistant (MCA) qualification.
Additionally, we are looking for candidates with experience working in a customer-focused environment, a strong understanding of confidentiality, and the ability to handle medications accurately.
The ideal candidate will be:
Monday to Friday (between 9 and 6 shifts to be discussed)

Helmsley Pharmacy is located within Helmsley Medical Centre in the heart of the North York Moors National Park. Whilst we are approximately 45 minute drive from both York and Middlesbrough, we support a rural population and their health needs.
Job Summary
To be responsible for theprocessing of prescriptions in accordance with practice policy and extantlegislation. In addition, the post holder will be required to support the DispensaryManager in ensuring a high-level of service is delivered at all times whilstsupporting the multi-disciplinary team in line with the strategic objectives ofthe practice.
Thefollowing are the core responsibilities of the Dispenser. There may be, onoccasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent uponfactors such as workload and staffing levels:
a. To be responsible for checking allmedicines dispensed, ensuring there are no discrepancies
b. Dispensing medicines to the entitledpopulation safely and accurately
c. Collecting prescription charges inaccordance with dispensary protocol
d. Maintaining stock levels within thedispensary, liaising with the dispensary manager to facilitate reordering
e. Receiving and storing supplies inaccordance with current policy, ensuring the cold chain is maintained whereapplicable
f. Ensuring controlled drugs are dispensedin accordance with practice policy
g. Ensuring safe disposal of returnedand/or out of date medicines
h. Ensuring all repeat prescriptions areprocessed within a 48-hour timeframe
i.Providing patients with advice regardingall prescription matters
j.Processing prescription requests viaemail, phone, fax, face-to-face and online
l. Assisting the Dispensary Manager in thepreparation of monthly returns
m. Always maintaining a clean and safeworking environment
n. Always maintain accurate records, includingappropriate coding entries
Inaddition to the primary responsibilities, the Dispenser may be requested to:
Provide guidance for trainee dispensarystaff and students as necessary
