About the opportunity

As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

Working within the healthcare department, you will build strong relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your duties will include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to support patients' health and wellness decisions.

This role is based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered, and applications from outside the UK will only be considered if relevant UK qualifications and right to work can be confirmed and evidenced.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Dispensing prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  2. Collaborating with healthcare professionals in your store to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  3. Providing care and advice to patients about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist when appropriate.
  4. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support safe and legal dispensing.
  5. Staying updated with new innovations and complying with operational processes.
  6. Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.

You will have opportunities to work with new technologies that enhance dispensing processes, improving patient safety and allowing more time for patient interaction. Regular training and development options are available, including potential training as a Pharmacy Technician or in store leadership.

What you’ll need to have:

  • Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or currently working towards it, with the first year of an MPharm qualification completed.
  • Current and valid UK right to work. This role does not offer sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.

It would be great if you also have:

  • Experience working in community pharmacy.

Our benefits

  • Discretionary Christmas Gift Payment
  • Generous staff discount
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and a gift card for expecting or adopting parents
  • Flexible benefits scheme
  • Access to 24/7 counselling and support via TELUS Health
