We are lookingfor an energetic and professional Dispenser who is proactive and works well ontheir own initiative to join our busy team.
The James Cochrane Practice has a long-standing reputation for excellent patient care, as the largest General Practice in the South Lakes area we have a registered list of over 17,500 patients and operate from 2 sites in Kendal.

To ensure that all medicines andappliances dispensed are checked against the prescription and whenever thereis doubt about the appropriateness of the item, or about the dose or labellinginstructions to check with the Dispensing Manager, authorising doctor or dutydoctor.
To collect all due prescriptioncharges and ensure that the patient declaration on the reverse of the FP10 isduly filled in and signed by the patient.
To ensure that all moniesreceived or handled on behalf of the Practice are appropriately stored andbanked and a record kept of all financial transactions.
To endorse all prescriptionforms as appropriate, collate and forward the forms in a secure manner to thePPA for processing and reimbursement.
To promptly forward all invoicesand pharmacy related correspondence to the Dispensary Manager according toPractice policy.
To operate efficient stockcontrol appropriate to the needs of the Practice with the objective of ensuringcontinuity of supply for patients and minimising wastage through out of datestock.
To ensure that drugs are storedin an appropriate manner in accordance with the accompanying instructions.
To ensure that shelves and allwork surfaces are regularly cleaned to maintain a high level of hygienewithin the dispensary and that all dispensary equipment is kept clean andkept in good working order.
To take prompt action inresponse to any drug alert bulletins that may be received from time to time.
To ensure that refrigerateditems are stored at the appropriate temperature and to maintain a temperaturecontrol record/logbook.
To maintain full and accuraterecords of all dispensing transactions incorporating the use of computerswhen available and appropriate.
To maintain cost effectivesupplies of those drugs that are purchased centrally on behalf of thePractice.
To undertake any necessary workas may be required by the Practice to maintain a high standard and efficientservice for our patients. (DSQS)
