About the opportunity

As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

Within the store's healthcare department, you will build relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your duties include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing healthcare advice to support informed health decisions—making a positive impact every day.

This position is based in-store within the UK. Remote applicants will not be considered, and applications from outside the UK will only be processed if relevant UK qualifications and right to work are confirmed and evidenced.

Key responsibilities:

  1. Dispensing prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
  2. Collaborating with healthcare professionals in your store to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
  3. Providing care and advice to patients about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist as needed.
  4. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to support the safe and legal dispensing of prescriptions.
  5. Staying updated with new innovations and complying with operational processes.
  6. Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
  7. Working with evolving technologies to improve dispensing processes, enhancing patient safety, and freeing up your time for patient interaction.

You will receive regular training to enhance your healthcare knowledge and have career development opportunities, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or in store leadership.

Requirements:

  1. Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent) or currently working towards it, with the first year of an MPharm qualification completed.
  2. Current and valid UK right to work. Note: this role does not qualify for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker Visa.

Preferred experience:

  • Experience working in community pharmacy.

Our benefits include:

  • Discretionary Christmas Gift Payment
  • Generous staff discount
  • Enhanced maternity/paternity/adoption leave pay and gift card for expecting or adopting parents
  • Flexible benefits scheme
  • Access to free, 24/7 counselling through TELUS Health
