About the opportunity

As a Dispenser working within one of our stores, you will be a key member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of pharmacy and healthcare services.

Working within the healthcare department, you will build strong relationships with patients by listening and understanding their needs. Your responsibilities include greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring the safe sale of medicines, and providing advice to support patients in making informed health decisions. Your work makes a real difference every day.

Key responsibilities:

1. Dispensing prescriptions safely, including ordering medicines, labelling, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions.
2. Collaborating with healthcare professionals in your store to manage and deliver pharmacy services.
3. Providing care and advice to patients about medicines and referring queries to the Pharmacist when necessary.
4. Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure legal and safe dispensing.
5. Staying updated with new innovations and complying with operational processes.
6. Supporting patients in managing their prescriptions and medicines effectively to promote adherence and reduce waste.
7. Working with evolving technologies to improve dispensing processes, enhancing patient safety, and allowing more time for patient interaction.

You will receive regular training to enhance your healthcare knowledge and have opportunities for career development, including training as a Pharmacy Technician or store leadership roles.

Requirements:

• Completed the Pharmacy Advisor qualification NVQ2 (or equivalent).

Preferred experience:

• Experience working in community pharmacy.
