Job description

The Dispensary Pharmacy Technician at DCSL Corbett Pharmacy will work collaboratively with the Superintendent at DCSL Corbett Pharmacy and the Principal Pharmacy Technician for Operations and Training DGOH. They will assist in delivering a high-quality, patient-focused dispensing service for DCSL and support the day-to-day running of the dispensary. The post holder will be trained to work in all dispensaries at DGOH. The expected placement is 80% at Corbett Pharmacy and 20% at Russell's Hall Hospital Pharmacy.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Be aware of and understand all written Standard Operating Procedures to ensure accurate dispensing of medicines.
  2. Ensure the efficient daily operation of the dispensary in conjunction with the Superintendent DSCL and Dispensary Manager, facilitating team coordination.
  3. Dispense stocks for wards, departments, other hospitals, and local authority clinics.
  4. Dispense and counsel outpatient patients regarding their medication regimens to ensure understanding of medication and possible side effects. This includes patients with barriers such as hearing problems or language issues, and may involve counselling on specialist medications (e.g., dermatology, TB medicines).
