Deputy Matron Surgery, Women's & Oncology Theatres.

Are you an experienced perioperative practitioner looking to progress your career? Do you thrive on challenge and diversity in your working week? If yes, keep reading.

Oxford University NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Deputy Matron for Theatres to join our cross-site team, including a ten-theatre suite, Day Surgery Unit, and Overnight Recovery Unit at Churchill Cancer Centre, five theatres at the Women’s Centre (including obstetrics), and four theatres at Horton Hospital in Banbury.

To succeed, you will require extensive theatre experience, be highly motivated, enthusiastic, proactive, and possess proven leadership and management skills. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively across sites, motivate others through positive leadership, and embody NHS and Trust values are essential. A flexible and adaptable attitude and previous managerial experience in peri-operative settings are required.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide transformational leadership and change management across sites, working closely with the Matron, Directorate Manager, and Clinical Director.
  • Support Clinical Governance, staff management, development, and theatre utilization optimization.
  • Create new patient pathways, oversee staff, and contribute to patient care within the perioperative environment.
