FULL TIME - Shift Working (relief) £27,598 - £30,019 pro rata per annum (AFC band 4)
Exciting opportunities have arisen for full-time dispatchers within our East Ambulance Control Centre (ACC) in South Queensferry.
The Ambulance Control Centre (ACC) covers an extensive operational area including both high population and remote and rural areas. The role of the ACC dispatcher is demanding and requires the ability to work as part of a dedicated team to provide 24-hour Accident and Emergency cover to the public.
As a relief worker, you will have no fixed working pattern, instead receiving shifts 4 weeks in advance to help ensure staffing remains at the required level. Candidates should be prepared to work 12-hour shifts.
The candidate must demonstrate accuracy and compliance with system protocols and SOPs, work effectively under pressure, and with minimal supervision. The successful applicant will dispatch Ambulances to emergency/urgent calls, ensuring optimal use of resources according to Service quality standards and deployment strategies.
Candidates will be required to attend a 2-week (internal candidates) or 3-week (external candidates) training course, followed by up to 8 weeks of mentorship within the Ambulance Control Centre.
Note: Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. If classified as a "regulated role," appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme. Changes will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.
