Do you have a passion for delivering exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment? Are you calm under pressure, confident in decision-making, and ready to make a difference?

Join Us as a Dispatcher!

We're looking for enthusiastic individuals to ensure safe, on-time train departures and provide top-notch customer support at the station. If you're a self-starter with great communication skills and a can-do attitude, this could be the perfect role for you!

What You'll Do?

  • Provide outstanding customer service and assistance.
  • Ensure safe and timely train dispatch.
  • Provide helpful information and assistance to customers.
  • Prioritize the safety of customers, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Keep the station clean and secure.
  • Collaborate with teams to provide real-time information during disruptions.
  • Enhance customer security through your strong visibility within the station.

What We're Looking For?

  • Strong team player, able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and basic numeracy skills.
  • Computer literate and comfortable using apps.

About the location?

Cheltenham Spa is a 5-minute drive from Cheltenham Town Centre and has recently undergone a significant transformation of its car park, increasing parking spaces. Cheltenham Hospital and the Racecourse are nearby. The station is served by several Cross Country services to Birmingham and the North hourly, as well as hourly services to Paddington, Bristol, and Cardiff.

Working Pattern?

You will need to work shifts including weekends and bank holidays. Shifts start as early as 05:00hrs and may end as late as 01:00hrs, so you must be able to travel to and from the station outside of regular public transport hours.

Additional Information?

  • Although based in Cheltenham, you'll be part of the South Cotswolds team, which includes Gloucester, Stonehouse, Stroud, and Kemble.
  • This is a talent pool vacancy to fill upcoming positions.
  • Interviews are tentatively scheduled for the week commencing 12 May 2025.

What to Expect?

  • Complete an online assessment after submitting your application.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a competency-based interview.
  • Pass a medical assessment, including a colour vision test, drug and alcohol screening, and a Basic DBS check.
  • Full training, including a 3-week programme in Swindon, will be provided.
