Job summary

Northern in Bolton is seeking a Train Dispatcher to oversee safe and punctual train movements across the network. You will dispatch trains from platforms, communicate with crews and control rooms, and monitor movements, ensuring timely responses to disruptions while maintaining high safety standards.

The role requires calm, quick decision-making, strong communication, and flexibility to work varied shifts. Full training in safety procedures is provided, and you will join a team committed to

SALARY: £27,004 after full completion of probation ( £24,904 during probation)

What you’ll be doing:
  • Dispatching trains safely and punctually from station platforms
  • Communicating clearly with train crews, station staff, and control rooms
  • Monitoring train movements and responding quickly to disruptions or changes
  • Ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
  • Delivering excellent customer service and information, especially during delays
About you :
