Job Opportunity: Dispatch Allocator at Newrest

Newrest has an exciting opportunity to join us as a Dispatch Allocator. You will work in a team, perform well under pressure, and adapt to new environments daily. All staff are required to work across various areas of the business, including bond store, equipment packing, dishwashing, production, warehouse, and dispatch, depending on operational needs. Supervising the staff screening process may also be part of your responsibilities.

Position Details

Title: Dispatch Allocator

Reports to: Transport Manager

Location: Newrest London Gatwick

Salary: £12.50 per hour

Key Responsibilities
  1. Ensure off-dock schedules are met.
  2. Coordinate inbound and outbound flights to meet current SLAs.
  3. Communicate with airlines and handling agents regarding departure times and SLAs.
  4. Check and update block plans for upcoming flights.
  5. Allocate drivers and TSA teams according to block plans to meet schedules.
  6. Ensure dispatch documentation complies with CAA and DFT regulations.
  7. Allocate correct vehicles for specific requirements.
  8. Print tickets during out-of-hours aircraft or flight changes.
  9. Coordinate with departments during aircraft or flight changes.
  10. Maintain constant communication with airlines and handling agents.
  11. Complete operational logs accurately and clearly.
  12. Ensure products and equipment meet standards before leaving the unit.
  13. Adhere to COSHH and HACCP regulations at all times.
  14. Follow COVID-19 safety measures.
  15. Ensure inflight services security compliance.
  16. Conduct vehicle security searches according to CAA and DfT regulations.
  17. Support other departments to maintain production and dispatch schedules.
  18. Maintain cleanliness standards ('clean as you go').
  19. Interact professionally with colleagues, customers, and clients.
  20. Comply with all corporate social responsibility initiatives.
  21. Perform any other duties as assigned by your manager.
Knowledge and Skills
  • Minimum 1 year’s experience in catering (desirable).
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and customer service skills.
  • Good literacy skills, both verbal and written.
