Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

We are looking for compassionate and reliable Disability Support Worker to join a dedicated care team in Wareham. This is a rewarding opportunity to empower individuals with physical, learning, or sensory disabilities to achieve their goals and enjoy a fulfilling life.

As a Disability Support Worker (SW), you will provide essential daily support to individuals based on their unique needs. You’ll assist with personal care, promote life skills, and help individuals participate in meaningful activities at home and in the community. Your role is key in building confidence, encouraging independence, and enhancing quality of life.

About School:

The school is an education setting based for 16 – 25+ years old with Special Educational Needs. It is based on 350 acres of beautiful Dorset countryside. The school operate enterprise activities and vocational teaching methods to bridge the gap between education and employment for young people and adults with SEN in Dorset and the local area. The school focuses on vocations like horticulture, agriculture, equine skills and animal care as well as many more, to enrich the lives and education of its pupils.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalised care that respects individual preferences and promotes autonomy
  • Assist with daily living tasks including personal hygiene, mobility, meals, and medication
  • Encourage skill development and confidence through everyday activities
  • Support social inclusion by facilitating participation in community and recreational activities
  • Collaborate with families, healthcare professionals, and team members to ensure consistent care
  • Maintain accurate records and report any changes in health or wellbeing
