Salary: £90 - £110 per day (Depending on experience)

GSL Education are looking for a compassionate and confident Disability Support Teaching Assistant to join a specialist SEN school in Eastbourne. This is a hands-on role working with pupils who have a range of complex needs, including physical disabilities, autism, and communication challenges.
About the Role:
You’ll work closely with teaching staff to support individual pupils in accessing learning, building independence, and feeling safe and supported in school. Your day will involve a mix of practical care, communication support, and classroom assistance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 or small group support to pupils with physical or learning disabilities
Support mobility, personal care and emotional wellbeing (training provided)
Use visuals, routines, and communication aids such as PECS or Makaton
Assist with daily tasks and learning activities tailored to individual needs
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to ensure the best outcomes for every child
Requirements:
Experience supporting children or young people with disabilities (school, care, or youth settings)
A calm, reliable, and empathetic approach
Flexibility and confidence working in a team
A valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
