Job description

Job Title: Engineering Director

We are seeking a Director / VP of Engineering with proven experience in building and scaling high-performance, agile engineering teams within fast-growing technology-driven companies.

This role is a key member of our executive team, collaborating closely with the Product Director to define product and engineering strategies, prioritize initiatives, and oversee a team of over 60 engineers. The position is responsible for all technological, personnel, and process aspects of our engineering organization.

Day-to-day Responsibilities

As a scale-up, your role will be diverse, involving initiatives such as:

  • Transitioning from monolith to microservices, focusing on value creation.
  • Optimizing team structure and domain ownership for growth and agility.
  • Enhancing developer experience, cycle times, and testing environments.
  • Implementing tools and practices to enable developers to focus on complex problems.
  • Improving security, support, and incident management processes.
  • Defining clear roles for individual contributors and managers for better planning and delivery.
Required Experience
  • Experience leading cultural change within engineering organizations.
  • Background in regulated industries, ideally within HealthTech or Digital Health.
  • Experience leading Series B or C SaaS scale-ups through transformation, coaching engineering leadership.
  • Proven success in managing complex architectural migrations or changes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to leverage evidence for strategic decision-making.
  • Technical expertise in distributed architectures.
  • Capacity to articulate organizational and technological needs at the executive level.
