Job summary

Finatal are partnered with a leading software-focused investment platform and are hiring a Business Development Director for their London office. You will join a high-performing origination team to source and develop acquisition opportunities from day one, influencing deal flow and long-term growth.

The role requires 6–10 years in M&A origination, a hunter mentality, and the ability to navigate long sales cycles while collaborating with senior founders.

Qualifications

• 6–10 years of relevant experience in M&A origination, deal sourcing, or outbound business development.
• Strong intellectual curiosity and genuine interest in founder-led businesses.
• Proactive, hunter mentality with ability to generate opportunities independently.
• Comfort with long-term sales cycles and ability to build relationships over extended periods.
• Experience operating within a metrics-driven, KPI-led environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills with senior founders.

Responsibilities

• Identify, research, and qualify software businesses in line with the firm's investment criteria.
• Execute outbound prospecting across channels including email, phone, and industry conferences.
• Build and maintain long-term relationships with founders and CEOs of vertical SaaS businesses.
• Track outreach activity, pipeline progression, and performance metrics using Salesforce and Outreach.
• Develop structured sourcing strategies to generate high-quality acquisition opportunities.
• Maintain clear, authentic two-way communication.
