The Senior Discretionary Investment Specialist role is to facilitate the running and growth of the discretionary business by acting as the technical expert. The Discretionary Investment Specialist will work closely with the portfolio management teams responsible for discretionary portfolio management to provide timely analysis of portfolio positioning and performance as well as communicating the strength of the offering.

The role is key to the delivery of discretionary solutions to our clients. It acts as a critical link between the investment team and front office teams. The investment specialist will ensure effective interactions across these stakeholders leading to AUM growth and increased investment revenues.

In this role you will:

  • Assist with the production of timely in-depth analysis of portfolio positioning and performance.
  • Pro-actively drive investment communication to the front office, whilst providing high quality responses to the front office.
  • Act as an interface between portfolio managers and discretionary product specialists. Build effective working relationships with portfolio managers, develop understanding of the investment process, portfolio positioning and investment decisions.
  • Develop high-quality materials to demonstrate the added value of our Discretionary solutions.
  • Deliver quality before and after-market sales assistance to the front office through meetings and conference calls. Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of Discretionary solutions asset across products and regions.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Significant expertise and experience of working on Discretionary or Fund solutions either through investment specialist, product specialist or portfolio manager roles - essential
  • Strong and demonstrable working knowledge of multi-asset portfolios and across all major asset classes - essential
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills: Excel, Visual Basic, & PowerPoint is essential; Knowledge of other systems such as Aladdin, Avaloq and Qlik Sense would be desirable
  • Proactive, positive attitude and ability to multi-task especially under pressure to meet time sensitive deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all stakeholders.

This role is based in London.
