Atkore UK is a market-leading manufacturer of steel support systems, cable management, and electrical infrastructure solutions. Representing a portfolio of trusted brands—including Unistrut, Marco, Flytec, and Flexicon—we serve the Electrical Wholesale (FLOW) channel, M&E contractors, OEMs, and specialist sub-contractors across the UK and internationally.

Who we are looking for:

With strategic growth across key verticals—Data Centres, Rail, Nuclear & Defence, and Renewables—and increasing demand for off-site manufacturing and prefabrication solutions, we are seeking a commercially astute and visionary Sales Director to lead our national and export sales strategy. As a key member of the leadership team, the Sales Director plays a vital role in shaping the strategic direction of the business and contributing to company-wide decision-making. This position carries the responsibility of representing the business with professionalism and integrity—both internally and externally—while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and performance. The Sales Director is expected to lead by example, champion the company’s values, and build strong relationships with stakeholders to support long-term growth and success.

What you’ll do:

  • Sales & Commercial Strategy
  • Own and execute the UK and export sales strategy across all Atkore brands, including Unistrut, Marco, Flytec, and Flexicon.
  • Drive top-line revenue growth across multiple channels:
    • Electrical Wholesale (FLOW)
    • M&E contractors and sub-contractors
    • OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) customers
    • Main contractors and consultants
    • Export markets, with focus on Europe, Middle East, and selected global regions.
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead and inspire a high-performing sales organisation, including national, key account, OEM, and export sales teams.
    • Set clear KPIs, monitor performance, and drive a high-accountability culture.
    • Ensure training and development plans are in place to upskill and retain sales talent.
  • Market Development & Key Verticals
    • Expand commercial footprint across high-growth infrastructure and industrial sectors including:
    • Data Centres
    • Rail & Transport Infrastructure
    • Nuclear & Defence Projects
    • Renewable Energy & Green Infrastructure
    • Work with internal stakeholders to build sector-specific go-to-market strategies.
  • Off-Site Manufacturing
    • Lead the commercialisation and market adoption of off-site and prefabricated solutions.
    • Promote benefits such as reduced installation time, improved site safety, labour savings, and environmental efficiency.
    • Position Atkore as a value-added partner for DfMA (Design for Manufacture and Assembly) projects.
  • Customer & Channel Engagement
    • Strengthen and expand relationships with key distributors, contractors, OEM clients and consultants.
    • Negotiate high-value agreements and deliver long-term customer growth strategies.
    • Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions and key meetings.
  • Collaboration & Market Intelligence
    • Liaise with product, engineering, marketing, and operations teams to align solutions with customer needs.
    • Provide feedback on emerging trends and competitive activity to inform business strategy.
    • Influence NPD (New Product Development) pipeline and channel support initiatives.
  • Commercial Reporting & Governance
    • Ensure accurate forecasting, budgeting, and sales reporting across all product lines and regions.
    • Report performance metrics to the executive team and contribute to board-level strategic planning.
    • Identify client concerns and where possible resolve or collaborate with the Customer Service and Sales team.
    • Contribute to the ongoing development of the Sales Strategy, specifically new products, new market opportunities and marketing campaigns.
    • Ensure that Atkore UK locally owns the Specification Process from initial specification to order placement by Distributor (where applicable).
    • Provide on a perpetual basis, a plan of calls/appointments to your manager electronically and advise if any changes are necessary during the week, keeping the
    • Manager informed at all times.
    • Provide, on a monthly basis, a report of activity including successes, opportunities, project pipeline and market requirements to achieve the company’s goals.
    • Understand and work to the Atkore core values at all times.
    • Follow Company Procedure regarding all administrative aspects of the role.
    • Take reasonable care of their own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by their actions or omissions throughout the course of their business activities, acting in accordance with the Company Safety Policy and setting a personal example at all times.
    • Undertake any other reasonable duty as requested by your manager.


What you bring:

  • Proven experience in a senior sales leadership role within the construction, building services, electrical or industrial manufacturing sectors.
  • Knowledge of the Electrical Wholesale channel, M&E market, and complex infrastructure project environment.
  • Demonstrated success in managing OEM and export sales channels.
  • Experience with prefabricated or modular/off-site construction solutions is a significant advantage.
  • Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to manage diverse teams and stakeholder groups.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, negotiation, and commercial acumen.
  • Willingness to travel across the UK and internationally as required
