Job summary

Steering Point is seeking a high-calibre restructuring professional to support the Head of Restructuring across insolvency assignments in the UK and Northern Ireland. You will manage a portfolio of cases, driving plan-to-delivery and advising on capital structures and debt refinancing.

Qualifications

  • Qualified accountant or insolvency practitioner with professional credentials.
  • 7+ years' experience in corporate recovery, restructuring and insolvency.
  • Established network in Northern Ireland/UK.
  • Strong knowledge of UK Insolvency Act and Companies Act frameworks.
  • Experience managing cases from initiation through to progression stages.
  • Excellent communication skills and high-level IT proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Take responsibility for day-to-day delivery of insolvency and restructuring assignments from planning to execution, including administrations, liquidations, receiverships, bankruptcies.
  • Develop and execute recovery strategies and implement solutions for underperforming businesses.
  • Advise clients on balance sheet restructuring, working capital issues, and debt refinancing.
  • Prepare and review financial analysis, investigations, and statutory documentation.
  • Liaise with lenders, creditors, regulators and legal professionals.
  • Oversee and mentor junior team members, ensuring output meets deadlines.

Job description

We are looking for a high-calibre Restructuring professional to work closely with our client's Head of Restructuring, supporting the delivery of complex restructuring and formal insolvency assignments. You will manage a portfolio of cases, including insolvencies, receiverships, and examinerships, and play a pivotal role in advising clients on optimal capital structures, debt refinancing, and formal restructuring processes.

This position offers a strong opportunity for progression for an ambitious candidate.

Role:

Support the Head of Restructuring on restructuring and formal insolvency assignments as follows:

  • Take responsibility for day-to-day delivery of insolvency and restructuring assignments from planning to execution including administrations, liquidations (CVL and compulsory), receiverships, bankruptcies.
  • Develop and execute recovery strategies and implement solutions for underperforming businesses to determine the best outcome for stakeholders.
  • Advise clients on balance sheet restructuring, working capital issues, and debt refinancing.
  • Prepare and review financial analysis, investigations, and statutory documentation.
  • Liaise with lenders, creditors, regulators and legal professionals.
  • Actively support business development initiatives and pitching for new assignments
  • Oversee and provide direct supervision to junior team members, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to deadlines across multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Contribute to training and mentoring within the team.
  • Guide junior team members and review their work to ensure effective case progression.
  • Contribute to the firm’s profile through participation in networking events and professional forums.
Person:
  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent) or Insolvency Practitioner.
  • 7+ years’ experience in a professional services firm focusing on corporate recovery, restructuring and insolvency
  • Established relevant network in Northern Ireland/ UK
  • Strong technical knowledge of formal restructuring processes, UK Insolvency Act and Companies Act frameworks.
  • Experience managing cases from initiation through to progression stages.
  • Strong commercial awareness, excellent communication skills (written and verbal), and high-level IT proficiency.
  • Driven, with an ability to work on own initiative, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational and project management skills with experience engaging with creditors, lenders and management teams.
