Job summary

Environmental Resources Management (ERM) is seeking an experienced Transport Director to lead and grow our Transport & Access capability across Renewables, Energy and Major Infrastructure sectors. The role focuses on onshore and offshore wind, grid infrastructure, hydrogen and storage projects, guiding transport-related planning, approvals and delivery.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams delivering transport assessments, route studies and access design solutions, while driving business

Qualifications

  • Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or related discipline.
  • Chartered status (CIHT, ICE or equivalent).
  • Postgraduate qualification desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the technical authority for transport and access workstreams across renewables projects.
  • Lead preparation and quality reviews of TA, TS, CTMP, CEMP, ALRA, TDR, EIA, transport chapters, and DCO/Section 36 submissions.
  • Provide strategic advice on transport constraints, access feasibility and consenting risks during development.
  • Act as Expert Witness at planning appeals, inquiries and examinations.
  • Lead transport inputs for onshore/offshore wind, solar, BESS, hydrogen, and transmission projects.
  • Mentor Transport Planners and Engineers; establish standards and QA processes.
