Job Description

Key Responsibilities & Competencies

  • Lead and grow a portfolio of institutional clients, acting as the primary relationship contact and escalation point.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert for the insurance and asset management sectors, including international clients with UK operations.
  • Design and execute forward-looking strategies tailored to the evolving needs of insurance and asset management clients.
  • Coordinate cross-border and cross-functional business development initiatives in collaboration with product and coverage teams.
  • Act as the first line of defence for all key risk categories, including credit, operational, compliance, reputational, ESG, and country risk.
  • Provide relationship coverage across adjacent sectors to support team resilience and foster collaboration.
  • Mentor and support junior colleagues, contributing to team capability and succession planning.
The Successful Applicant

Key Requirements

  • Degree-level education (postgraduate qualifications advantageous).
  • Regulatory certifications in financial services (preferred).
  • Experience in a similar client-facing or sector-specialist role, ideally within institutional banking or financial services. Either as a VP looking to step up, or an established Director.
  • Deep understanding of the insurance and asset management sectors, including relevant products and market dynamics.
  • Broad product knowledge across capital markets, structured finance, M&A, lending, and transactional banking.
  • Strong grasp of credit and compliance processes, including KYC and regulatory frameworks.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a high-performing team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
