Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in the UK seeks a Director of Structured Content Authoring to lead the transformation from document-centric regulatory operations to a modern, data-driven, component-based model.

This leader will establish the vision, governance, and strategy to connect structured regulatory content, master data, and enterprise governance to create authoritative, reusable information assets for global compliance and digital health needs.

Qualifications

• Extensive life sciences/regulatory data governance experience.
• Proven track record in IDMP, RIM platforms, and data management.
• Experience shaping governance frameworks and data standards for regulatory compliance, content reuse and traceability.
• Strong stakeholder management and executive communication across complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Establish governance structures, ownership models, decision rights, quality standards and stewardship across regulatory content and data domains.
• Oversee reusable content components and data assets covering labelling, CMC, clinical and submission content, ensuring traceability.
• Provide strategic leadership for IDMP governance including product, substance, organisation, referential, registration, manufacturing and packaging data.
• Shape future-state architecture connecting RIM platforms, structured content solutions, master data management, terminology services, publishing platforms, analytics and AI-enabled capabilities.
• Ensure automation, AI and advanced regulatory technologies are grounded in trusted content and data.
