Job summary

GlaxoSmithKline plc is seeking a Privacy Operations Director to coordinate data and AIML privacy in R&D and GxP environments. You will partner with Legal, Data Protection, Information Security, and external stakeholders to translate privacy principles into practical, risk-based solutions that support scientific innovation while protecting patient trust.

You will lead governance, automate privacy controls in platforms and data products, oversee data subject rights, and help scale privacy

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information governance, privacy, computer science, life sciences, or related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Significant experience in information governance, AI governance, and privacy operations.
• Hands-on experience in regulated environments and ability to translate regulatory requirements into automated controls.

Responsibilities

• Provide privacy leadership and advisory support for R&D, CPO privacy strategy, and privacy-by-design initiatives.
• Operationalise privacy requirements as code, embedding privacy controls in platforms, data pipelines, and AI/ML lifecycle.
• Advise on data governance, regulatory compliance (UK/EU GDPR, HIPAA), and data subject rights processing across multiple data environments.
• Build partnerships across R&D, Legal, Information Security, and external partners to scale privacy capability and awareness.
