Job summary

Understanding Recruitment is seeking a Director of Portfolio Management Office (PMO) to lead the technology portfolio, governance and strategic delivery function. The role offers direct exposure to the CTO and senior leadership, driving enterprise-wide transformation and delivering measurable business value.

You will own the technology portfolio, lead strategic programmes, establish governance frameworks and ensure alignment between business objectives, investment and delivery.

Qualifications

• Senior PMO or director-level portfolio leadership experience.
• Strong governance, investment planning and benefits realisation.
• Experience managing large-scale technology programmes.
• Excellent stakeholder management with C-suite exposure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Portfolio Management Office across Group IT.
• Drive technology strategy execution and enterprise-wide transformation programmes.
• Establish portfolio governance, investment prioritisation and financial controls.
• Oversee complex, business-critical technology projects and programmes.
• Manage portfolio budgets, resources, risks and dependencies.
• Work closely with C-suite stakeholders to influence strategic decisions.
• Build and develop high-performing teams while driving continuous improvement.
