Citi in London is seeking a Director - Platform Engineering & Architecture Lead to own architecture strategy for enterprise platforms serving 200,000+ users, in a hybrid work model.

You will balance hands-on coding with setting engineering standards, policy-as-code, and guiding delivery across frontend, backend, APIs and cloud services.

Mentor engineers, translate business strategy into scalable roadmaps, and work with senior leaders to drive resiliency, security and performance.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience leading enterprise-scale software teams.
• Proven distributed systems and cloud-native architecture expertise.
• Hands-on coding in Python, JS, TS, Go or Java.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, integration patterns and observability.
• Experience guiding architecture reviews across multiple teams.
• Track record delivering large-scale strategic programmes with measurable business impact.
