The client prides itself on working within all sectors of the construction and engineering industry. Therefore, this role offers an exciting variety of project exposure on domestic and international projects.

This Director role is suitable for current Associate Directors or Directors with significant forensic delay analysis experience on live projects/contracts, as well as experience as an Expert Witness.

You will gain regular exposure as an expert witness for mediations and adjudications.

Responsibilities and Duties

Specific duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Forensic analysis in alternative dispute resolution (ADR)
  • Managing and developing the planning and delay team
  • Controlling, managing, and reporting contractual obligations from procurement to final account
  • Determining schedules, monitoring programmes, and understanding risks
  • Writing reports for negotiations and formal dispute resolution procedures, including adjudication, mediation, and litigation
  • Providing accurate assessments of progress
  • Participating in business development and helping to generate work and clients

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a construction project planner and in formal disputes with a claims and disputes consultancy
  • Extensive delay analysis experience and high-standard narrative writing
  • Expert Witness experience
  • Testifying experience is preferred but not essential
  • Existing projects or clients to bring to the role
  • Comfortable with business development
  • Leadership and management skills
  • An ambitious individual aligned with the company's core values and growth plans

Qualifications/Educational Requirements

  • A degree in a construction-related field or equivalent qualification
  • Membership in a professional body such as CIOB or CIArb is advantageous
  • Relevant MSc in engineering or Construction Law and Disputes (LLM) is a strong plus
