Job summary

The Diocese of Sheffield, part of The Church of England, invites applications for a Director of Vocations to lead strategic development of lay and ordained vocations across the diocese.

The successful candidate will be a confident communicator with strong organisational and relationship-building skills, able to work with a wide range of people, manage competing priorities and contribute creative ideas to support the Diocese’s aims and gospel vocation.

Qualifications

• Confident communicator with strong organisational and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work collaboratively with a wide range of people and manage competing priorities.
• Able to contribute creative ideas to support the aims and values of the Diocese.
• Experience in strategic leadership across mixed clergy and lay teams (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for lay and ordained vocations across the Diocese.
• Work closely with the Assistant Director of Vocations and Lead Lay Ministry Enabler.
• Develop and promote a culture where all God’s people discern and develop their gifts.
• Oversee recruitment, development, and deployment in line with safeguarding and Equality Act requirements.
