The School and Role
ABC Teachers is seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Director of Vocational Learning (IT Specialism) to join a respected secondary school in Yardley from September 2025. This is a permanent, full-time position ideal for an experienced teacher ready to lead and manage a dynamic team across vocational subject areas. The role:
Lead the development and delivery of vocational subjects including IT, Sports Studies, PSHCE, Citizenship, and Health & Social Care
Line manage and support subject leads and staff within the vocational faculty
Deliver engaging IT lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4
Drive curriculum innovation and ensure high standards of teaching and learning across vocational areas
Work closely with SLT to raise achievement and enhance student engagement in vocational education
Requirements
The successful Teacher will have;
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with a specialism in IT or Computing
Proven track record of excellent classroom practice at secondary level
Experience or clear potential for middle leadership responsibilities
Strong organisational and communication skills
Commitment to inclusive education and vocational curriculum development
Ability to obtain suitable references, a valid DBS Check and hold the Right to Work in the UK (ABC Teachers do not offer sponsorship)
All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
