Software Engineering Director

London

£120k - £140K + 3% commission + equity after 1 yr.

My client, a Global AI powered technology solutions company, are seeking a Software Engineering Director to lead the company’s software and product development, innovation creation and technological vision. The Software Engineering Director will be responsible for driving innovation, managing technical teams, product development roadmap, and ensuring the suitable functionality, scalability and efficiency of our software solutions and leading-edge products in AI-first platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Define and oversee the company's technical vision, strategy, software development and product roadmap.
2. Implement an AI-first software vision on products, platforms and solutions.
3. Manage P&L for the entire Software Division.
4. Develop products and platforms that are ready for accelerated and sustained growth.
5. Lead revenue activities including ensuring that bids and proposals are of top quality.
6. Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing team of developers, engineers, and IT professionals.

Software Development:

1. Oversee the design, development, and deployment of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
2. Implement an AI-first software approach.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

1. Work closely with the CEO/COO, C-suite executives, and stakeholders to communicate technical strategies and progress.
2. Serve as a technical advisor for business development and client engagements.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. 5+ years in software engineering, technical leadership, or similar roles, with some senior management capacity.
2. Strong background in software development, architecture, and systems design.
3. Extensive experience in implementing AI-first software.
4. Proven experience in AI development and AIOps implementation.
5. Experience with various cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure, etc.), DevOps tools.
6. Demonstrated ability to scale technical teams and deliver complex software projects on time and on budget.
7. Experience in creating solutions that have cloud, web, and mobile app components.
8. In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity, data privacy regulations, and compliance standards.
9. In-depth knowledge of various AI methodologies and learning algorithms.
10. Proven experience in various programming languages like Python, Java, React, C#, domain-specific, and cross-platform development, etc.

Qualifications:

1. Experience in Telecoms and technology domains.
2. Experience in developing private-cloud based software products and platforms.
3. Experience in leading-edge technologies such as AI/ML, blockchain, multi-band IoT.
