Salary: Up to £122,000

Tandridge District Council is seeking a strategic and collaborativeDirector of Resourcesto lead our financial strategy and fulfil the statutory duties of theSection 151 Officer. This is a rare opportunity to help shape the final chapter of a well-respected authority and leave a legacy of financial resilience, service excellence and community trust ahead of Local Government Reorganisation.

You’ll play a central role in ensuring the Council remains financially sustainable, innovative in its service delivery and responsive to the needs of residents and businesses. The role can be tailored to include a broader portfolio of services — such as Procurement, Revenues and Benefits, Asset Management, HR, Digital and Customer Services, and more — depending on your experience and interests.

You will be part of the Management Team, which works together to support the Chief Executive to lead, support and deliver:

  • The transformation of the Council, underpinned by the Corporate Plan.
  • Service planning and delivery.
  • Organisational development – culture, values and behaviours.
  • Local government reorganisation.

About you

We’re looking for a qualified finance professional (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with significant senior leadership experience, ideally within local government. You’ll bring:

  • A strong track record of financial stewardship and transformation.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to lead through complexity and change.
  • A collaborative, “One Team” mindset.
  • A commitment to public service values and community impact.

You should be an excellent communicator with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of audiences and work well with other teams. Collaborative and personable, you are good at building positive working relationships and influencing at all levels of the organisation.
