Job summary

Ambition Institute in Birmingham seeks a Director of Research, Data & Insights to lead our research strategy across early years, schools and colleges. You will set the research agenda, provide methodological leadership and secure external funding while overseeing our Data & Insights function to ensure high-quality data and evaluation.

As a senior leader you will manage a multidisciplinary team, influence policy and practice, and communicate evidence through speaking, writing and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a portfolio of high-quality education research.
• Ability to secure external funding and develop partnerships.
• Strong leadership of data, insights and evaluation.
• Excellent communication with policymakers and practitioners.
• Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and resources.

Responsibilities

• Set Ambition’s research agenda and strengthen research quality and impact.
• Develop strategic research partnerships and secure external funding.
• Communicate evidence through speaking, writing and relationships.
• Oversee Data & Insights to ensure data quality and insight-driven decisions.
• Provide senior sponsorship for major data projects and infrastructure.
