Your Role:

We are pleased to share that we are now actively recruiting for our next Director of Prevention, Protection and Building Safety.

As the future Director, your role will be to provide strategic leadership to two core delivery teams leading in Prevention and Protection. This is an exciting time to join GMFRS, as we prepare to publish our next Fire Plan for 2025-2029, outlining an ambitious path forward to enhance our services.

You will shape future success by developing interventions supporting the GM Mayoral Manifesto and Greater Manchester Strategy, including Housing First and Live Well priorities. Additionally, you will support the Chief Fire Officer as NFCC Protection Committee Chair.

A key responsibility will be overseeing the development and delivery of Local Remediation Acceleration Plans and engaging with political stakeholders at local and national levels. This includes building relationships with the Building Safety Regulator and Homes England to influence system change.

Supported by Heads of Service, you will drive strategic change, lead your service areas, and bring outstanding leadership that fosters innovation, collaboration, and inclusivity. As a vital member of the GMFRS Executive Leadership team, you will influence the organisation's future direction and ensure the development of services that deliver the best outcomes for our communities.
