The Administrative Director, reporting to the Dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences.

Position Overview

The University of Wisconsin-Parkside invites applications for the position of Program Director of the Master Degree in Physician Assistant Program. The successful candidate will serve as the founding director and lead the program through its initial accreditation process.

The Program Director will oversee the administration and operation of the program, ensuring compliance with university and ARC-PA standards. Responsibilities include leadership, management, personnel oversight, resource application, and effective communication. This is a twelve-month position with potential for progression within the Center for Health Sciences, reporting directly to the Dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences.

Candidate Profile

We seek an individual with the ability to contribute to building a community-oriented, ethically grounded, innovative, and collaborative Physician Assistant program. The candidate should have a clear vision for developing healthcare professionals who embody these values and serve their communities effectively.

Essential Job Functions
  • Oversee program organization and administration, providing leadership and management
  • Manage accreditation processes and ensure compliance with ARC-PA standards
  • Complete ARC-PA documents timely
  • Conduct program self-assessment to maintain accreditation standards
  • Participate in teaching as appropriate
  • Manage fiscal planning and development
  • Plan and develop the program strategically
  • Coordinate student recruitment, retention, and admission processes
  • Provide leadership and strategic direction, ensuring transparent communication
  • Develop clinical rotation sites in collaboration with program staff
  • Conduct faculty and staff performance evaluations
  • Oversee program committees
  • Collaborate to enhance the program's reputation
  • Support faculty and staff development
  • Supervise and mentor faculty and staff involved in the PA program
  • Manage faculty workload and teaching schedules
  • Represent the program at various institutional, state, and community events
  • Perform other duties to ensure operational excellence
Qualifications
  • PA education leadership experience, with at least three years of teaching and five years of clinical experience
  • Certified by NCCPA as a physician assistant
  • Master's degree from an accredited PA program
  • Experience with ARC-PA accreditation is preferred
