Job summary

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT) is recruiting a Director of Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) to lead PPIE across our Trust, within research programmes and across our research culture. You will embed the PPIE strategy and lead the Vocal team to ensure patients, the public and communities are true partners in research.

As a senior manager, you will shape and deliver strategic objectives, lead complex programmes, drive operational excellence and influence

Qualifications

Extensive leadership experience within NHS, charity and/or health research sectors.
Deep understanding of PPIE theory, policy and practice across health research.
Strong track record of equity-focused health research and partnership work.

Responsibilities

Embed and deliver the PPIE strategy across the Trust and research programmes.
Lead the Vocal team and ensure patients, public and communities are true partners in research.
Develop and maintain partnerships with academic, commercial and community stakeholders at local, national and international levels.
Secure funding streams and lead bids to support PPIE activities and organisational resilience.
